Chandigarh NMMS 2023 answer key released at; Objection window open till Nov 19


The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Chandigarh has released the provisional answer key for the National Means-cum-Merit scholarship scheme (NMMSSEE) 2023.
Candidates who had appeared for the NMMS examination 2023, can check the provisional answer key released at
Candidates are required to go through the released answer key thoroughly to spot any errors.If any discrepancy is found, candidates can raise objections. Objections can either be emailed to the authority, or can be sent in-hand, according to the notice. The last date to submit objections is November 19, 2023.

The Chandigarh NMMS Exam was held on November 5, 2023.
NMMSSE (National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Examination)
NMMSSE, or the National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Examination, is a centrally sponsored scheme in India. It aims to offer financial support to meritorious students from economically weaker sections, preventing dropouts at class 8 and encouraging continued education at the secondary stage.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for NMMSSE, students must meet specific criteria:

  • Income Limit: Parental income should not exceed Rs. 3,50,000 per annum.
  • School Type: Students must attend regular government or aided schools under the Government of India.
  • School Exclusions: Exclusion criteria include residential schools or other adopted schools under the state government.
  • Academic Performance: Students should have passed the 7th standard with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in the Last Term Examination.

Scholarship Details
The scholarship amount is Rs. 12,000 per annum, intended for students to pursue their secondary education in government or aided schools under the Government of India, excluding special or residential schools.
Selection Process
NMMSSE is a merit-based scholarship, and students are chosen based on their performance in a written examination. The examination comprises two parts:

  • Mental Ability Test (90 minutes)
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (90 minutes)

all states and union territories in India hold the NMMSSE. The scholarship is centrally sponsored, but the examinations are conducted and the scholarships are awarded by the state governments. Generally, the NMMSSE examinations are typically held in the month of November and the results are announced in the month of January. However, the exact dates may vary from state to state.
Students can apply for the NMMSSE scholarship through their schools. Students are selected for the NMMSSE scholarship based on their performance in the examination. The state governments announce a merit list of selected students and award them the scholarship.
